2016 I See Through Your Eyes Green

I see through your eyes green, 2016

ink on paper, cartons, ceramic and leaves

The work was done during my stay in the artist-in-residence program in CCA Andratx. The technique for the drawings is sepia ink on paper. All photos and items I used for the presentation I found during my one month stay in studio Verde. I’ve used found images of anonymous and missing people. The drawings I put on the wall bear the name I see through your eyes green … , against them on the floor, I arranged exactly different items of paper, ceramic elements, leaves of trees, plants and cactus, rooted in the green color. The diversity of the green color prevails on the Mallorca island, a natural part of the landscape and the everyday life of the people there. It was interesting to me how to combine this colorful landscape with the sepia-color drawings. I gathered every day something that was in green from the surrounding landscape and then painted all the drawings with only sepia color.
Close-ups, come from filmmaking and display most details, but do not include the broader scene and do not exist in the real world, which I have used for comparisons, human vision, and landscape. There were opposing two points of view.
